First of all, you need to know the privacy and permission settings. Guests will be able to see all areas but those restricted to Admin, Private groups ( ie sisters/brothers), and the General Discussion and Introduction area. The General Discussion area and Introductions is limited to all Members in viewing and posting.
However, any forum outside of these categories will be view-able to guests insha'Allah{SWT}, so that any casual passer-by can access information on Islam. Guests are only allowed to post questions in the question forum so we insha'Allah avoid as much trolling as possible.
You will notice a majority of the forum is restricted from members initiating a post. The reason for this, is that the information in them will be classified according to topic and type so anyone in search of a specific topic will be able to find its information. Also the information in the posts placed in the resource forums will be scanned for accuracy and appropriateness. You will be able to reply to the posts in this section but you cannot start a post.
That being said, should a topic or posting in the General Discussion area be deemed a beneficial resource for all readers, we may move it to the resource area or link to it, insha'Allah (we are still looking into the best method for this).
Sister's and Brother's areas are restricted by gender. The administrators will review each person insha'Allah that requests to be grouped, and we will allow access to these groups as we feel each candidate has proved themselves, via Facebook, personal recommendation of another member, or any other means that accomplishes the goal of identifying gender. As of right now, there is no post minimum since many of you in the beginning will already be on friends lists from Facebook. You MUST make an introductory post in the Introductions forum to be eligible.
