The first order of business when wanting to join this Forum is Registration. Registration has its advantages in that you will have access to other areas of the Forum not available to Guests. You will also be able to send Private Messages and create a Profile. Also hidden from Guests are the Member's list, Groups' list and the Search feature of this Forum.

To register just click where it says "Register"

Then you will be taken to the Forum Terms of Service which you must read and then agree to by clicking on "I Agree...." On the next page you fill in your Username, Email and Password. Then you will be asked to confirm your password and type in the letters you see in The Confirmation Code Box. That's it. Membership in this Forum is by Administrators approval. This is necessary to help keep out Spammers and Trollers who only cause problems in a Forum.

As soon as you register, you will receive an email at the email you registered with. Please keep this email as it contains your registration information. In this Forum the Administrators cannot access your password if you loose it. After your membership has been approved you will receive a second email welcoming you to the Forum.

You then will use your Username and Passowrd to Login on your next visit to the Islamic Haven.

You may notice I skipped over FAQ. I did this because FAQ is simply a link to Frequently Asked Questions about using this Forum. If you have problems that we can't answer or no one is around you may click on FAQ and see if you can find answers to your questions...

The Search feature is among one of the advantages of being a member as I earlier stated....If you are looking for something in particular this may help you as it will search the entire forum to find responses to your queries...

Type a word or phrase in the Search Query box and click "Go". You will then get a list of topics or posts that contan the word or phrase you are searching for...for example if you are looking for posts or topics regarding The Qur'an, type in Qur'an...

Here you will find the Username, when they joined, when they last visited the forum and the number of posts they have made. If you click on a Member's Username you will be taken to their profile....we will discuss profiles in a separate posting.
Also the buttons on the right, the PM Button is for sending the member a Private Message and the WWW Button is if they have a website, you can click on it to visit their site.

This link will take you to a page which at the top you will see which group(s) you are in: Sisters or Brothers, Muslim or Non-Muslim Friends. If you wish to be added to a particular group please click on that group in the drop down list. Administrators and Super Moderators are Forum Staff Members and are by invitation only.

This link will take you to your personal Profile Page. Your profile is important to complete in order to set your personal preferences for the forum. I will discuss these different options one by one...

The first thing you will see is your Personal Information page...

Forum Tutorials Profile1

Here you may change your email address for the group and/or change your password. Neither your email address or password will be seen by anyone in the Forum.

The next part asks your personal information. Please be aware that this information will be visible on your profile which can be viewed by others (only registered members). You can fill some of it in or not, it is your choice.

The last part is for your contact information, ie: your personal website, ICQ, AIM, YAHOO and MSM Messenger contact information, as well as Skype. Please be aware that this information will also be seen on your personal profile can be viewed by other members. You can fill some of it in or not, it is your choice.


When you finish filling out that information you want to make public to other members be sure to click "SAVE" at the bottom of the page.

Just above the top gray bar you will see a black bar with words written in white....these are the links to the other pages of your profile....the first link is Preferences....

As the name implies this page allows you to set your preferences for various features of the Forum, if you are not sure what to check, then usually the default choice is already checked...

You can set your prefered language, timezone and how you want the date to appear.

Be sure and click "SAVE" after you have made your changes....

The next link is for your Signature. A signature is usually a favorite quotation, saying, picture or even a favorite sura as I have for my signature...

Type what you want in the message box, then if you want to make sure it is ok...click on "Preview", it will appear in the box above the message box...if it needs corrections or changes then you can edit it back in the message box...if it meets your approval, click "Send".
