| The Sun
[91:1]
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the sun and her morning light,
[91:2]
and [by] the moon when it follows her,
[91:3]
and [by] the day when it reveals her,
[91:4]
and [by] the night when it enshrouds her.
[91:5]
By the heaven and the One Who built it,
[91:6]
and [by] the earth and the One Who spread it,
[91:7]
and [by] the soul and the One Who proportioned it,
[91:8]
and inspired to discern its vices and piety.
[91:9]
Successful indeed will be the one who purifies it,
[91:10]
and he will indeed have failed he who eclipses it.
[91:11]
Thamūd denied because of their rebellious nature,
[91:12]
when the most wretched of them was dispatched.
[91:13]
But then the messenger of God said to them, ‘[This is] the she-camel of God, so let her have her drink!’
[91:14]
But they denied him, then hamstrung her. So their Lord closed in on them because of their sin, and meted it equally [among them].
[91:15]
And He does not fear the consequence of it.
